TSPA Fargo Student Of The Month January 14, 2021

At TSPA we are proud of all of our students, and each month our educators select a student to be honored as Student Of The Month.

There are several criteria a student must meet in order to be considered for the award like good grades and attendance, but we also look for intangibles like leadership skills, positive attitude, willingness to help others, and work ethic. Part-time Cosmetology student Amanda Maag has shown all of these qualities, and we are proud to present the January 2021 Student of the Month award to this Moorhead Minnesota native!

We asked Amanda a few questions about her passion for the beauty industry.

Q: Why did you decide to pursue a career in cosmetology?

A: I love to make everyone’s day brighter. What better way than to give them something fun to look forward to?

Q: When did you first become interested in a career in cosmetology?

A: I started doing friends hair 15 years ago at home, then one day it just clicked and here we are!

Q: Why did you choose The Salon Professional Academy?

A: I had a fellow high school classmate that attended TSPA, and she knew how much I loved hair.

Q: How would you describe TSPA in one word?

A: Overcoming.

Q: What is your favorite thing about TSPA?

A: The positivity that just oozes out of it’s students and staff.

Q: What are your plans after you graduate?

A: I plan to work at a salon for a few years and save up to open my own salon.

Q: Anything you would like to add?

A: TSPA has helped me come out of my shell and become the bright, fun person I always wanted to be!

In addition to the sparkling certificate, which looks great when applying for that first job, Amanda has a reserved parking spot right next to the student entry door for a month!
